Brooklyn-Queens LEAH
Co-op Classes Policies
Co-op classes will operate according to our By-laws, which were ratified on November 21, 2019. See a copy of the By-laws.
We will begin with Student Clubs (if applicable) at 10 am followed by prayer and announcements at 10:30 am. Children will then go to their classes beginning at 11:00 am.
Fees: The fee per student noted in the sign up form is payable prior to the first day of class. This money will go toward location and supplies.
Tardiness and Absences: In order to develop responsibility in our children, as well as to show respect for the individuals taking the time to teach these classes, there will be a policy regarding lateness and absences.
· Children should arrive at their classes on time.
· Two latenesses count as an absence.
· Arriving more than 15 minutes late also equals an absence.
· If a child is absent two times he/she will not be allowed to return to that class.
· If you are unable to attend class, please call or post a note in the group and let the teacher know
Conflict Resolution: If you have a problem with the co-op, this is the procedure to follow:
First, speak to the teacher of that class.
Second, if the matter is not resolved with the teacher, speak to Jacqui Gittens. Please do not discuss the problem with other parents. Keep the matter private as is illustrated by the Scriptures.
Please see the BQ-LEAH Handbook for more details if needed.
Duties: Each parent must sign up for a job to help the co-op run more efficiently. Please put that job on the bottom of this form and during signup.
Garbage and Clean-Up: Please read this section very carefully and make sure your children fully understand it. Students MUST clean up after themselves to make sure the church is left as we found it. Any garbage left lying around MUST be thrown away by those assigned, but everyone needs to be on the lookout: do not allow anyone to leave garbage, crumbs or spills behind, on tables or on floors. Never put anything in a garbage can that does not have a plastic bag --- Find another one. Recyclables must be put in a receptacle marked for recyclables or take it home to throw out.
Liquids - when throwing out containers that hold liquids, POUR OUT THE UNUSED LIQUID FIRST; then throw away the bottle.
Eating: NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE SANCTUARY. There is a designated lunch time but eating is allowed in the downstairs classes at the discretion of the teacher. Please make sure eating is done in a way that does not become a distraction to the class or teacher. Each child is responsible for cleaning up any mess associated with eating. Gum chewing is not allowed in the church building.
Miscellaneous: Our goal is to leave the church as we found it, and to represent Christ in all our behavior.
